"Superstar" Launch for Velvet
Soapstar Superstar finalist and Hollyoaks star Gemma Atkinson flew into Dublin for the official launch of Velvet Nightclub on Thursday, 15th February 2007, during which the club also announced its bid to find the next Miss World .
With added entertainment in the form of the hugely popular Tassel Club Burlesque Cabaret amongst those that attended were IFTA Award winner Liam Cunningham, presenters Brian Ormond, Laura Woods and Aidan Power, artist Terry Bradley, Louis & Louise Osborne, Gillian Quinn and Patricia Roe, Paul Harrington, Hazel Kaneswaran, Avila Lipset, actors Rachel Kavanagh and David Mitchell, Gerry Sinnott & his girlfriend Susan O'Connor, D'Side's Dane Guiden who is currently writing with Blue's Simon Webbe), 98FM's Garret Gunnigle, Paul Byrom and Killian O'Sullivan, Martina McClafferty, Cindy Cafolla and Trevor Musgrave to name but a few...
Having proved a huge hit on ITV's Soapstar Superstar Gemma Atkinson, who is currently in talks for a recording deal, has since filmed 2 other television projects as well as appearing on the Friday Night Project for Channel 4, and has personally worked with Sir Richard Branson for the launch of Virgin Media.
Said Gemma for whom it was her first visit to the capital, "I had a great time and I'll definitely be visiting again!"
